Our dream come true!
It has been our dream for years and years to buy a lake house in the mountains. We have vacationed at various mountain lakes and rented homes, taken day trips to lots of area lakes, gone sightseeing in numerous mountain towns and we kept coming back to Lake Chatuge, over and over again. The beauty of the lake and the surrounding mountains simply can not compare to any other lake in the southeast. The quiet surrounding towns of Hayesville and Hiawassee offer all conveniences and it’s a short and beautiful drive to Atlanta, Asheville and Chattanooga!
About 5 years ago we rented a house at Lake Chatuge for a week’s vacation and fell madly in love. We rented a boat from Boundary Waters and spent the week tubing, laughing, relaxing, reading, sitting at the fire pit, grilling and sleeping in. A few friends drove up from Atlanta and spent a couple of days enjoying the peacefulness and we soaked it all up. Our love affair with Chatuge and the North Georgia mountains had begun and at that point, all we really knew was the lake. Little did we know about all the other amazing activities that were close by but more on that later. These photos are from our vacation several years ago that started us on this journey to homeownership at Lake Chatuge! ENJOY!!
